Hacked Again - Guild Wars Forums

Hello,

I recently had posted about how to start over after being hacked. This hack had happened a few years ago.

Yesterday I was hacked again, and all the anniversary pets for the past 3 years were gone, as well as what little plat I had left. Other items were deleted as well; including 20 trick or treat bags. =( I don't think I will be able to get Halloween stuff saved up because I am likely to get hacked again.

I know my account is currently not safe for some reason. I am looking for possible causes. I have up to date norton software. I have an active everquest 2 account and an inactive WoW account. These accounts were not effected. Maybe someone is targeting me?

I cannot contact ncsoft till Monday. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas as to what could cause this. Currently I am changing my passwords for everything on my Mac. However, I don't know that the hackers aren't able to get info from the mac, as I do not have virus software on my mac and I run VMware.

I'm not expecting anyone to know, but I would feel better with emotional support.

I also have a post looking for a guild and I'm not sure if I should even try to join one at this point.

I might look for someone nice enough to hold any items I gain for the next few weeks. I know that might be a stupid idea, but leaving items on my account also risks that they will just be taken again.
If anyone has a better idea as to what to do with anything I get from Halloween or else where, it would be nice. I wouldn't play, except it is Halloween. Also it would be nice to have someone keep an eye on my account and see if it is me logged in. But I don't know, unfortunately my husband can't seem to access his account to help me out.
I do have a second account, but it is attached to my ncsoft account which was hacked as well.

The only thing I didn't lose were my characters and anything in pre-searing.
Do Halloween items drop in pre-searing?

I just don't understand why ONLY my ncsoft accounts are hacked and not any other mmo account.

I thank you for any thoughts on the matter.

I'm very sorry about your loss but there is nothing we can do to help you. You should check out Lunarsoft.net it has helpful advice for scanning and cleaning your computer. You could also look into the Account Security Tips from NCSoft. PC Tools also offers a secure password generator.
